During the last ten years the use of thermal
insulation in flooring has become mandatory. The building
regulations only require total insulation of those floors which have a
relatively small area and in some cases perimeter insulation is all that is
necessary in order to conform. However, practice has shown that when larger
floor areas are insulated to a proper standard, the effect is dramatic and the
small additional expense is soon recouped in heating cost savings.
Cold spots are eliminated and the occupier benefits from the rapid
response of the heating system combined with reduced space heating costs.
Benefits
- Gives high insulation efficiency.

- Adaptability in modern constructions.
- Allows smooth floor surfaces.
- Offers an insulated base for chipboard.
- Insulates within screeded floors.
- Insulation of lightweight floating floors.
- Insulation for war suspended floors.
- Insulated ducting in suspended floors.
- Meets N.H.B.C. recommendations.
- Meets the Building Regulation standards.
- Reduces heating costs.
- Provides thermal envelope at floor level.
- Allows quick from heating systems.
- Avoids cold bridging.
- Insulates the whole of the floor area.
